Now that we are clear that water baptism was part of the Jewish Law, should we still practice things of the Jewish Law? The Jewish Law purpose was to serve as a metaphor, example, shadow of the Spiritual reality (Colossians 2:17; Hebrews 8:5; 10:1). Let see what the bible has to say about the Jewish Law current position and if we still need to practice water baptism.

This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings (water baptisms)—external regulations applying until the time of the new order. Hebrews 9:9-10

The word βαπτισμοῖς which is baptisms appears in the greek.

In Matthew 11:13 and Luke 16:16 Tells us that the law and the prophets ended with John the Baptist.

It is clearly seen in Acts that we are not obligated to practice water baptism part of the law anymore except for laws of morality Acts 15:9; 11; 19; 20; 28 and Acts 21:25.

No one is justify by the works of the law including water batism.
Romans 3:20; 21; 22; 27; 29; 30; 31 and Galatians 3:10-27.

We should trust God because there is nothing we can do but only trust that he has created a perfect plan of salvation. We are not called to be co-redeemers of our own souls Romans 4:4-5 and Galatians 2:16 Galatians 5:4-6.

If we still live under the Jewish Law then there is no use of the New Law of faith Romans 4:14-16; Galatians 2:17; 18; 19; 21 and Hebrews 8:7.

The law only brought more sin because no one could fulfill the law Romans 5:13; 20; 21 and Romans 6:14.

We are free from the law! Romans 7:6 and Ephesians 2:9; 10; 15.

The Israelites were not able to obtain their goal but now we can! Romans 9:30-33; Romans 11:6-7 Hebrews 8:7-12

By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear. Hebrews 8:13

I will just leave you with a few questions:

would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort? Have you suffered so much for nothing—if it really was for nothing? Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard? Galatians 3:2-5
